The IRS announced on March 20, 2020 that it has moved the April 15, 2020 tax filing deadline to July 15, 2020 which means you have until July 15th to file AND pay your 2019 income taxes.

Massachusetts very recently publicly issued notice they have also moved the tax deadline to July 15, 2020.

There is no need to file an extension, they have simply picked up April 15th and moved it to July 15th.

For those that pay quarterly estimated tax payments, the first quarter is now due July 15, 2020. The second quarter has not been extended so oddly it's due June 15, 2020 as normal.
