The Massachusetts DOR has extended the filing deadline for sales, meals and room tax returns that were originally due during March 20, 2020 through May 31, 2020 to June 20, 2020.
This means any returns that you were required to file during that time period are now due on June 20,2020, including filing of the return and payment.
This applies to any filers that owed less than $150,000 in the 12 months prior ending February 29, 2020. In other words, if you owed less than $150,000 in meals taxes for the last 12 months in total, you can take the extension.
